Pete & Posy, both from Scotland, decided to buy Faldonside Farm in 2012 when they moved from Edinburgh, back to the countryside
The Farm, consists of 500 acres of privately owned land and it still has the original saw mill with a large prominent chimney used for extracting the steam but now the farm land is used for livestock over the summer months. Sitting high above Melrose, the views are quite exceptional. It is recorded that Sir Walter Scott designed some of the woodland at Faldonside and would often be seen riding his horse on this land.
Faldonside Holiday Lets, consists of 4 self catering holiday properties , The Studio, The Lodge, Number One & Mulberry cottage.. Two of which sit on the estate, in prime spots overlooking the Yair Valley and Faldonside Loch . Number One sits centrally in Melrose with a view of the Eildon Hills & Mulberry cottage in the pretty village of Bowden.
With the owners love for textiles & design, each property has been decorated to a high spec and originality which means returning guests can enjoy a totally different experience from one to another.
'We very much enjoyed our stay at The Studio and found the owners to be accommodating. We loved the peaceful location of The Studio and the wonderful furnishings. It was thoughtfully laid out and decorated beautifully. We have been visiting the Borders since the early 90's and this is our favourite. The views of the hills are spectacular'
